No childhood is complete without a classic doll to play with, which is why it’s my favorite toy to knit. There’s just so much scope when it comes to making a doll — you can control the hair color, outfits, and expression of your creation, making the process all the more fun.

I’ve gathered my favorite knitted doll patterns for you to enjoy, from cute little play toys to cuddly pals, boys and girls, there’s loads of different types of dolls for you to stitch up!

Christmas is right around the corner, but I’ve still got time to make a present or two. With two small nieces and girls of my own, a handmade doll or two are sure to be a winner.

1. Easy Knitted Doll Pattern by Val Pierce
